Hey Guys!

Right now it's midnight, and I'm sitting in our family room watching TLC with my mom and sisters! :)

Tomorrow we're visting a church near us... we're going to the Contemporary service, but there's also a Traditional, too : ) The service is at 8:30, so we have to get up at like 6:00... which is wayyyy too early for me! haaha!

Right now I'm learning 1 Corinthians 13... it's so pretty! It really makes me think... especially the part where it says that even if you are persecuted for others, but don't have love in your heart, that it's like nothing! I haven't memorized the whole chapter yet.. just up to verse 8. But i've read the whole chapter. I hadn't really thought about it before... having love in your heart no matter what. I had always wanted to be a missionary... to travel all around the world and tell people about Jesus and "get a "good" reputation". But I didn't really have love in my heart when I was thinking about telling people about Jesus... just about how it would make me look good.
So, basically, even if you are doing something  that seems really good, but don't have love in your heart, you might as well be doing n.o.t.h.i.n.g.
I found a song called Proof of Your Love... it's by the band For King and Country. The song goes along with this chapter of the bible, so I liked it even more! Here are the lyrics <3

If I sing but don't have love
I waste my breathe with every song
I bring, an empty voice
A hollow noise

If I speak with a silver tongue
Convince a crowd but don't have love
I leave a bitter taste
With every word I say

(Chorus)
So let my life be the proof
The proof of Your love
Let my love look like You
And what You're made of
How you lived, how You died
Love is sacrifice
So let my life be the proof
The proof of Your love

If I give to a needy soul
But don't have love then who is poor
It seems all the poverty
Is found in me

Chorus

Ooh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
When it's all said and done
Ooh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
When we sing our final song

Only love remains
Only love remains

If I speak with human eloquence and angelic ecstasy but don't love, I'm nothing but the creaking of a rusty gate. If I speak God's Word with power, revealing all his mysteries and making everything plain as day, and if I have faith that says to a mountain, "Jump," and it jumps, but I don't love, I'm nothing. If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don't love, I've gotten nowhere. So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I'm bankrupt without love.

So, i'm trying to look at things thru a different light/perspective now. : )

Here's the chapter of the bible:

If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

WOW!!! I think God might be calling me to be a missionary, I've felt that way for a while now. And now, because of my best friend, I know that I'm going to have to be full of love if I do this! Thanks so much Issy, you're such an encouragement!

Thanks for posting the song lyrics. I heard the King and Country song on the radio, but I didn't know its name or group. I googled for it, but couldn't figure out the name of it until I came across your blog. I really like this song and hope it catches on.
